w00ting back on 64~

Well, its been a long while since I blogged. Longest while. Ever. Heh. Several reasons to that. First is of course, work is overwhelming me! Every night come back only thinking of sleeping k... -_-

Well then, the other reason is, unfortunately, my laptop fan decided to call it quits after 4 years of hard work. Whoops, no more cool air for u dude. And it died. Since it seems like not worthy to repair the fan (which a shop quoted me below $100), and have the HDD or some other God knows what sub-system of the laptop breaking down a couple of months later, so I went out and gotten myself a whole new desktop system. Hehe.

To be frank, this is the first time I'm assembing a whole system by myself and is definitely a good experience. It took a lot of sweat to setup everything, 90% contributed by the hot and humid weather here. Actually, the toughest part is selecting the best part my limited budget can get me :-p.

So, my new toy is an AMD64 dual core 3600+ (processor + mobo $344), 19" BenQ LCD ($359), 1GB RAM ($161) and 250GB HDD ($126). I've decided to leave the video card for upgrading later and settled for an on board chip for now since I won't be playing much games (at the moment, at least). This new system blew a total of $1.1k out of my pocket. Whew. I think I'm gonna depreciate it over 5 years. Heh. Anyway, I totally love my new screen estate now. So much space! OMGWTFBBQ!!!11 The contrast and brightness is also better than my laptop.

Which reminds me, what am I to do with my laptop? I'm still at a total loss about that.
